On Monday, the authorities announced the UAE's resumption of issuing work permits for government and semi-government employees, as well as visas for domestic workers.
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship announced, on Monday, that work visas will be issued to those in vital sectors as well, in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority.
The official Emirates News Agency said the decision also takes into account the precautionary measures taken by the travel industry to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Covid-19 measures include PCR tests for workers before they enter the country, as well as quarantine if needed.
Workers with valid residency visas in the United Arab Emirates can continue to enter the country regardless of their nationality, including those who work for government and semi-government agencies.
