
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced that the UAE has become the first Arab country to grant parental leave to private sector employees, stressing that this step constitutes a development in the UAE labor market.
The ministry stated that it was approved to grant the employee (father or mother) in the private sector a paid leave for a period of five working days to care for his child from the date of birth of the child until his completion of 6 months, pointing out that this decision supports the Emiratisation efforts and the attractiveness of the private sector to national competencies.
