The Council of Ministers mourned to the Kuwaiti people, the Arab and Islamic nations and the peoples of the world, the death of the late, God willing, the leader of humanitarian work, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, who moved next to his Lord in the United States.


The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh announced, in a statement on Kuwait TV, that the Council of Ministers called for His Highness the Crown Prince, the Emir of the State of Kuwait.

He also announced the official mourning period of 40 days and the closure of official departments for a period of 3 days, starting today.

His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God preserve and protect him, took the constitutional oath this morning in the special session held by the National Assembly to take his oath. His Highness, may God preserve him, said in pronouncing the oath: “I swear by God Almighty to respect the Constitution and the state’s laws and defend the people's freedoms, interests and money, and safeguard the nation’s independence and territorial integrity.”

His Highness, the Emir of the country, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God preserve and care for him, delivered a word that read:

«In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (Our Lord has given us patience and death to us Muslims). May God Almighty praise be to God, and may blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of God, the brothers, the President and members of the respected Ummah Council. The ordeal and affliction as we thank him in favor and prosperity.

He departed from us to the House of the Hereafter, a lofty symbol of our eternal symbols, who gave much to his country, his people and his nation.
