The Khorfakkan Heritage District project will turn the area into a tourist and cultural destination, and will offer tours of the emirate's ancient history and heritage.
Sheikh Sultan inspected the Wadi Water Canal and watched the Shosh races and the traditional marine sports that were held within the opening activities.
The canal, which is 700 meters in length and five meters in width, is one of the most prominent tourist facilities and recreational activities, as it gives visitors the opportunity to explore the Wadi Water Canal area connected to the sea on the Khorfakkan beach. .
He also inspected the Riaheen Hotel, which includes a group of old houses in the heritage area due to be restored while preserving its archaeological features. He viewed the upcoming stages of opening the hostel, the proposed designs, and the most prominent services that will be provided to guests, including temporary housing that reflects the ancient heritage, in addition to a group of cultural stores.
Then Sheikh Sultan stopped at the Youth Hostel, one of the old houses in the heritage area, which dates back to the 1950s. Walk around the old market known as the Eastern Market and listen to an explanation of the stages that have been completed in the market.
