The Rain Emergency Team met at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, which includes the Undersecretary for Works Affairs, Eng. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Khayyat, the Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, Engineer Sheikh Muhammad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the General Directors of the three municipalities and the Capital Municipality, along with a number of engineers, by visual communication through the program Microsoft Teams, to discuss the Ministry’s preparations for the Good Rainy season.
During the preparatory meeting, the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning were emphasized on the necessity of preparing work teams, taking all precautionary measures during the rainy season, and uniting efforts in works affairs and municipal affairs.
The work plan was discussed and the program was discussed to deal with rainwater pools, as the rain emergency team will follow the same mechanism that was worked on during the past year, as a team was identified for each governorate, which proved successful in uniting efforts with the aim of reducing the damage caused by rainwater pools and dealing with it during 24 hours.
The field plan for dealing with rainwater pools according to priority and the most affected areas, especially securing the entrances to hospitals, schools, public and vital places, and ensuring the safety of the sewage network and the flow of traffic on the main road network and not harming citizens in residential neighborhoods, in addition to directing those concerned to the continuity of Working in cleaning rainwater drainage holes using high pressure, cleaning open waterways and channels, drainage tables, emptying rainwater collection tanks and maintaining pumping stations, in addition to activating hot lines to receive reports on rainwater pools in the four governorates and public streets, and working around the clock to receive and deliver reports For stakeholders.
