An Emirati minister has announced that the UAE healthcare sector has moved to the third stage of vaccine research and clinical trials Covid-19, while the minister addressed a briefing on Monday and revealed that research will be conducted on two types of vaccines in the third stage.
Abdel Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, said that if proven effective, "we will move to the comprehensive production of the vaccine."
The Minister of Health said: "We have more than 15,000 volunteers to study and experiment, and all safety requirements and requirements of the volunteers have been met."
The UAE had previously announced that it had begun the third stage of clinical trials of the Covid-19 vaccine, which is expected to be available by the end of 2020 or early 2021.
The country introduced one of the most comprehensive testing and tracking systems in the world early and thanks to the accelerated comprehensive testing, the country managed to perform the maximum number of tests in record time.
It also plans to conduct more than two million tests in the next two months and lead the United Arab Emirates when it comes to testing per million people.
