Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Communications, His Excellency Dr. Rumaih bin Muhammad Al-Rumaih, Chairman of the Public Transport Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and His Excellency Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Haqbani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Bridge Foundation. During the meeting, a detailed presentation was made on the latest developments in the project, including the financial model, financing method, the general framework for cooperation with the private sector and the next steps for their approval, in addition to reviewing the timeframes for the project implementation phases.
During the meeting, the committee approved the outcomes of the study and the proposed timetable, and it is hoped that preparations will be made to conduct an introductory workshop for the project with the private sector from investors and developers to monitor the sector’s concerns before launching the project for future implementation, and a follow-up meeting will be held for the remaining study outcomes within a month of its date.
It is worth noting that the King Hamad Bridge project between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be parallel to the King Fahd Causeway and consist of four vehicle lanes and two railway tracks, and will connect the King Hamad International Station to be established in the Ramli area with the railway station in Dammam and the rest of the Kingdom’s cities.
