Kuwaiti National Assembly

Yesterday, the National Assembly approved 3 laws and referred them to the government, which are a draft law on bankruptcy, amendments to the Agriculture Authority Law, and the conversion of Kuwait Airways into a joint stock company, while it was satisfied with approving the first deliberation of the Demographic Regulation and Management Law, and the amendments to the Rights of People with Disabilities Law.

The Agriculture Authority Law included amendments to the term of the Board of Directors and the conditions for privatization, distribution and assignment of agricultural holdings.

The government expressed its reservation on the demographics law passed by the parliament, and voted to reject the law, after Minister of Affairs Maryam Al-Aqeel confirmed that the law contains many observations and is tainted by constitutional flaws and must be returned to the relevant committee.

The government also warned, when the parliament discussed the Disabled Persons' Law, that the report of the Parliamentary Committee did not reflect its observations, and the government abstained from voting on the law.
