Kuwait speeds up oxygen and helps India

The Kuwaiti Cabinet announced, during its weekly meeting on Monday, that Kuwait will immediately send oxygen and relief aid to India to help alleviate the suffering of people there, as new cases of Covid-19 recorded a record high for the fifth consecutive day.

In the press release issued after the meeting, the State of Kuwait expressed solidarity with friendly India, expressing deep concern and regret over the deteriorating health situation.

Kuwait is among the many countries that have rushed to help India as the country grapples with an increase in deaths related to COVID-19. Footage from New Delhi, one of the worst-hit cities, shows cremation at makeshift facilities offering mass cremations.

Countries around the world have pledged to send medical aid as India's hospitals are running out of beds and oxygen supplies.

All flights between Kuwait and India were suspended on Saturday until further notice.

The circular issued by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Kuwait (DGCA) states that the decision applies to all travelers from India, including domestic workers.
