The Deputy Director General for Kuwait International Airport Affairs at the General Administration of Kuwaiti Civil Aviation, Saleh Al-Fadaghi, revealed that the operational plan for returning commercial flights at the airport did not exceed 15%, while it was scheduled to reach 30%, according to the previously established operating plan.

Al-Fadaghi explained that when a vaccine for the emerging corona virus (Covid -19) becomes available in Kuwait, travel restrictions will be lifted directly, bringing the employment rate to 100%, as was the case for commercial flights previously.

He pointed out that the Executive Committee to restart commercial flights at Kuwait International Airport decided to exempt aircraft crews and technical crews in external courses from home quarantine for a period of 14 days, with the establishment of a mechanism by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health to examine them continuously during specific periods.

Al-Fawzan stressed that the proposal, if approved, would be a good economic incentive for airlines in Kuwait, indicating that it would help reduce their losses caused by the repercussions of the Coronavirus.
