In a statement, Nissan announced its temporary suspension of production in Africa, the Middle East and India as a result of the continued outbreak of the Corona Covid-19 virus.

The company explained that its decision was based on the advice and directions of the concerned national governments, and that the decision was taken to preserve the health of employees, customers and societies.

Nissan outlined the measures taken in its decision, starting with stopping production at the Renault-Nissan-India Alliance Private Limited factory in India, from March 23 until further notice, with a limited number of employees continuing to perform basic maintenance Production has also been suspended at the Rosslyn plant of Nissan in Pretoria, South Africa, and the facility has been suspended from Thursday 26 March until further notice.

The decision also included suspending work temporarily in the "Nissan" facility in the 6th of October city in Giza, Egypt, from tomorrow, Thursday, for two weeks as a precautionary measure.

In its decision, Nissan adopted activating remote work, including employee protection, within the framework of efforts aimed at containing the spread and impact of the virus and reducing it, in light of Nissan giving priority to the safety of its employees, partners and customers, and adherence to all government protocols in the region.
