The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship stated that, as of next Monday, that is, after 48 hours, it will begin imposing delay fines on holders of expired identity cards, customers who benefit from the extension period for renewal of identity.
She explained that the procedure applies to the beneficiaries of the deadline that it announced last July, in light of the precautionary measures, during the "Covid-19" pandemic, according to which it granted their expired cards, during the period from the beginning of March to July 11 last, a period of three months.
She called on the beneficiaries of the grace period to initiate renewal of their cards before the deadline expires, noting that the application of delay fines will take place from October 12th.
The authority had announced that it would grant residents a three-month period (it began on July 12) to regularize their status and renew their residency, if it expired after the first of last March, without any fines being taken into account until the deadline expires. It also granted citizens and GCC citizens a three-month period to renew their identity cards, which expired after the first of last March, without imposing any fines. It granted residents outside the country a month, from the date they came to the country, to renew their residency permits that expired after the first of last March.
On the other hand, last week, the authority began to resume work by permitting the issuance of new visas for the assistive workers category, in addition to the start of issuing entry permits to work for government and semi-government agencies and vital establishments in the country, through the agency’s main channels. And she confirmed the continued admission of holders of valid residence permits, in the category of assistive workers.
The authority stressed the importance of adhering to the pre-examination procedures before arriving to the state, with the aim of enabling the return of this group to the country, in a manner that achieves the integration of the efforts made with the various sectors of the state and its vital institutions, in conjunction with the readiness of the joint work mechanisms regarding the preventive and precautionary measures followed to confront “Covid- 19 ».
The authority had extended the period of exemption for "violators of the Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners", who benefit from the honor of His Highness the President of the State, for a further period of three months (starting from August 18 to November 17), whenever the violation occurred before the first of last March, and the decision includes exempting them from Fines for them.
The authority stated that the reward includes violators of the Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners, as the restrictions listed against them will be paid without stamping the deprivation, on the condition that they leave the country.
