His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, dedicated this year's Flag Day celebrations to the heroes on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.
This came after the UAE flag was raised at the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
“Flag Day this year is an opportunity to celebrate the solidarity shown by the community and the spirit of giving and cooperation that helped the country mitigate the impact of the epidemic. We express our gratitude to those who are on the front lines of combating Covid-19.”
He added that the country "greatly appreciates" their efforts and dedication. We also thank the volunteers who helped ensure the well-being of the various communities.
The citizens and residents of the UAE have set an example of solidarity and giving. They showed their love for this country and worked as one team to overcome challenges so that we could renew our development efforts and advance towards a bright future.
The event was organized by the Watani Al Emarat Foundation under the slogan "Proud of You".
Flag Day, which falls on November 3 of each year, marks the anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.
