Gulf Air - the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain - has begun its countdown to the Formula One Gulf Air 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix as a main supporter for one of the most important sporting events in the Kingdom, where the race will be held from 27 to 29 November.
And in light of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him; The Bahrain International Circuit had previously announced that the Formula One races for the Bahrain Grand Prix for Gulf Air and the Rolex Sakhir Grand Prize will be held in general without the presence of the public, but there will be a limited number of stadium seats that will be allocated to the families of workers in the front lines of health personnel and other support the two seas.
Gulf Air's Acting Chief Executive Officer, Captain Walid Al-Alawi, stated, “We are proud to be the main supporter of this ancient race that will be held without the presence of the masses, with the exception of a limited number of public podium seats that will be allocated in the two races to attend the first row of medical staff and their families. It is a deserved appreciation for those teams who have contributed to addressing the Coronavirus pandemic and limiting its spread in the Kingdom. Adding that the decision reflects the extent of the appreciation directed to the honest people of the nation, as this year has been full of challenges for all. However, we are working with all our efforts and energies to implement Gulf Air plans that show the best of the airline and the Kingdom to the world.
It should be noted that Gulf Air has been the official sponsor of Formula One for the Bahrain Grand Prix for Gulf Air since its historic launch in Bahrain in April 2004 as the first Formula One race in the Middle East region. Since that time, the airline has contributed to the success of this sporting event and to ensuring its excellence at all levels.
