While the Council of Ministers announced that developments related to the Corona virus, which indicate the increasing number of infected people and deaths, necessitated taking the most severe measures in various countries of the world to confront the risks of the second wave of the epidemic.

it decided to form a committee headed by the Minister of Health and the membership of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Public Authority for Information Civil Society and the Central Agency for Information Technology to prepare and implement the appropriate mechanism for vaccination from the (COVID - 19) virus, taking into account the health rules, requirements, and precautionary measures to maintain health security in the country.
 
The Minister of Health, Dr. Basil Al-Sabah informed the Council of the results of the Ministry's efforts to secure the necessary vaccines to confront the virus.
 
It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers assigned the Ministry of Health last July, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, to take the necessary measures towards providing an amount of 75 million dinars to buy a vaccine for the Corona virus, while the Vaccination Committee approved last September the selection of 3 international companies to supply the vaccine after its effectiveness was proven and approved by international organizations, namely AstraZeneca Oxford, Pfizer and Moderna.
