The air travel agreements have led to "life returning to normal" and airlines are making great efforts to ensure the safety of passengers.

The major airlines based in the United Arab Emirates, such as Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia, are gradually resuming flights to routes around the world.

Initiatives such as affordable and accessible Covid-19 testing before travel, strict social distancing measures at airports and the launch of the travel initiative, are making international air travel more attractive to people across the region.

Major airlines and healthcare facilities are now offering the mandatory RT-PCR pre-departure test in real time at affordable rates in the UAE.

The tests are offered to Emirates passengers at a special price of 150 dirhams at the American Hospital, Dubai Media City Clinic, American Hospital, Al Barsha Clinic, American Hospital and Al Khawaneej Clinic, and test results will be available within 48 hours.

"Passengers must show a valid card / boarding pass - departure within one month of the test date - and ID card to take the Covid-19 PCR test at these prices," the airline said.

The Emirates Test Partner also offers a home or office test within Dubai for a minimum of two passengers and is also available at a price of AED 250.

Flydubai also offers special rates for RT-PCR testing as Aster DM Healthcare offers passengers a PCR test from flydubai at 180 Dirhams per test while NMC Healthcare costs passengers 150 Dirhams per test and the test report will be issued within 24 to 48 hours of the test. ”

Flydubai is also offering free global coverage to cover medical expenses for Covid-19.

Emirates Airlines clarified that a PCR test is not required to deliver passengers. "It is only compulsory for those coming from some countries and when the country of destination requests it," she added.

Exemptions to the test are provided for children under 12 years of age, and people with severe disabilities, and only UAE citizens must be tested upon arrival in the UAE.

Tickets for Etihad Airways will include a PCR test between October 1 and December 31 this year for flights departing from Abu Dhabi. The offer does not include flights to China.

The airline said: "Passengers should book their visit at any Life Dx approved sample collection facility in the UAE, or arrange for sample collection from your home if they are traveling in Business Class or First."

Moreover, global wellness insurance coverage for Covid-19 is included with every Etihad airline ticket.

For travelers to and from Sharjah, it is now allowed to travel for all citizens and residents via Sharjah ports to and from any destination. However, all travelers must assess the Covid-19 situation in the countries they plan to visit and both tourists and residents must ensure they have adequate health insurance.
