After the spread of the Corona Virus crisis in Kuwait, all sectors of all kinds were affected and the government was forced to take all preventive measures and precautionary measures, as it suspended work in the public and private sectors and suspended public and private schools and universities.

He issued a decision to suspend expatriate appointments during this period of the outbreak of the new Corona virus (Covid 19), whereby the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs M. Walid Al-Jasem directed the executive branch of the municipality to suspend the appointment of arrivals.

The minister emphasized that dispensing of expatriates in the municipality had begun, and that he would not back down from the policy of replacing Kuwaitis and would not respond to any pressure and called for ending about 50% of the municipality's expatriate employees after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

A meeting was held with the heads of the sectors remotely and informed them that today lists of employees ’names will be distributed in each sector so that each sector head will choose the names of the employees who wish to dispense with them and provide a list of names tomorrow, Thursday, in preparation for preparing the dispensing books and delivering them to the employees after the Eid.

He asked them that any employee’s service would be terminated with the reason provided for dispensing. This is the first step in ending the services of expatriates so that all of them are dispensed in all sectors and include all jobs for engineers, law, secretaries and delegates.
