Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth Development in the United Arab Emirates, has been added to the list of ministers receiving Covid-19 vaccine in the country.

The minister posted a picture of her receiving the vaccine through her official Instagram account, praising the nurse who gave her the vaccine.

On Friday, October 16, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

"Vaccination against Corona is our way to return to normal life," Sheikh Abdullah said in a post on his official account on Twitter.

The photo shows a healthcare worker injecting the vaccine into the minister's arm.

Last month, the United Arab Emirates granted approval for the emergency use of the Covid-19 vaccine being tried in the country. The vaccine, developed by Chinese company Sinopharm, is now in the third and final phase of clinical trials and has so far been found to be safe and effective, according to authorities. More than 31,000 volunteers have received the vaccine as part of the program.

With emergency approval, the vaccine is now being given to frontline workers and professionals at risk of contracting the virus. It was also taken by a number of senior officials.
