Participants can enjoy the thrill of outdoor bike riding while experiencing attractions at the Dubai World Trade Center, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay and Dubai Canal.
Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road will turn into the track for the city's new cycling event, Dubai Ride, on November 20.
The free, non-competitive community event, taking place as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2020, will take cyclists of all abilities and experiences on a journey through the main artery of the city. Participants can enjoy the thrill of outdoor bike riding while enjoying a unique view of landmarks across Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), Downtown Dubai, Business Bay and the Dubai Canal.
The first event of its kind in the city, announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, will feature two distinct itineraries - a family cruise of 4 kilometers and an open journey of 14 kilometers. The 4-kilometer ride is open to participants from five years of age and older, of all abilities and fitness levels. The road, which will take riders around Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, provides plenty of photo opportunities. The 14-kilometer path, built for cycling enthusiasts 13 years of age or older, will take them on a once-in-a-lifetime bike ride through Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, the Dubai Canal and Sheikh Zayed Road.
Cyclists must be able to cycle a distance of at least 4 kilometers, bring their own bike and helmet and register to participate in the ride on.
