Those who meet the requirements can book their tickets directly on the Air India website or through the airline's reservation offices.
The Indian Embassy has announced that Indian expatriates who have registered in Indian missions in the Emirates can obtain seats on the Vande Bharat mission on a first-come-first-served basis if they fulfill the mandatory requirements for repatriation.
They can book their tickets directly on the Air India website www.airindiaexpress.in or through the reservation offices of airlines in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Ajman managed by the general sales agent of the Arab Travel Agency. The embassy said on a social media site that tickets can also be booked through the approved Air India ticket agents in Dubai.
Direct sales of tickets will be available from 7 pm, June 28 onwards, on flights in the fourth stage of the Vande Bharat mission, scheduled between 3 July and 14 July 2020.
Air India will conduct 170 flights to and from 17 countries as part of the fourth phase of the mission.
The fourth phase will focus on the Gulf region, where a large number of expatriates have registered with Indian embassies to take advantage of special return trips.
The Vande Bharat mission began to assist the stranded Indian citizens to return home on May 6.
Currently in its seventh week, 364,209 Indians have so far returned from more than 50 countries across 5 continents, according to Indian government sources
