Covid-19 violations in Naif drop sharply

Dubai Police recorded 614 violations of Covid-19 in the region since January, compared to more than 6,612 violations last year for not wearing masks, not maintaining social distancing, and exceeding the limit for people somewhere.

Brigadier Dr. Tariq Muhammad Nur Tahlak, director of Nayef Police Station, said in 2020 that Nayef Police Station launched one of the largest awareness campaigns to guide people to precautionary measures.

He said, "The police worked in the field on foot and on patrols, and in areas that the patrols could not enter, we used drones with loudspeakers to send messages in different languages so that the message could reach most nationalities."

The Brigadier General said that Nayef was one of the first regions in the Emirates and the region to implement the closure and the national sterilization program.

The lockdown in Naif lasted for 28 days and helped bring down the violations and infections.

He said that about 120 people volunteered with Dubai Police in raising awareness and exposing violations during the period.
