Law No. (5) of 2020 regarding the seizure of vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi imposed a fine of 50 thousand dirhams, to unblock the vehicle in the event of exceeding the red signal, in addition to paying the violation and withdrawing the driving license for the violator for a period of up to 6 months starting from the date of revoking the license.
Abu Dhabi Police explained that in committing a red light violation, the offender is obligated to pay the financial fine for this violation of 1000 dirhams, seize the vehicle for 30 days as stipulated in the Federal Traffic Law, and then pay a fine of 50 thousand dirhams, in order to be able to break the reservation on The vehicle, as stipulated in Law No. (5) of 2020, and in the event that the fine related to the seizure is not paid within 3 months, the reserved vehicle will be sold in the public auction.
