The Public Prosecution noted that, according to Article 374 of the Federal Penal Code, a penalty of imprisonment not exceeding six months or a fine not exceeding 5,000 dirhams is punished if the defamation or insult occurs over the phone, or in the face of the victim in the presence of others, and the penalty shall be a fine that does not Exceeding 5000 dirhams if defamation or insulting occurred in the face of the victim without the presence of anyone or in a letter sent to him by any means, and it is considered an aggravating circumstance if the slander or insult occurred, in the cases indicated in the previous two paragraphs, against a public official or assigned to a public service During, due to, or in connection with the performance of a public office or service, or if it harms the honor or harms the reputation of families, or when it is noticeable that an unlawful purpose is achieved.
