Seventy-five percent of the students who chose hybrid learning this academic year are now attending in-person classes at 116 private schools in Sharjah.

"All students who choose hybrid learning will return to schools by next week," said a senior official at the Sharjah Special Education Authority. "Those who chose to study online will continue until the end of the year."

He added that more than 24,000 students have already been screened for Covid-19 to attend in-person classes and more students will follow until 100 percent of students, who chose blended learning, return to campus.

Meanwhile, SPEA has trained more than 500 employees to deal with any symptoms of the virus that may appear among students or faculty. School medical and nursing teams have also been trained to deal with emergency cases, in addition to allocating isolation rooms. Clinics and isolation rooms are equipped with the necessary medical devices - ventilators, blood pressure monitors, etc.

Specialized teams have been formed in schools to deal with all aspects of class sterilization, providing sterilization materials in toilets and entrances, and requiring students to wear masks while they are on campus.
